The most beautiful towns in Loire-Atlantique
From your rental accommodation at our 4-star campsite in Loire-Atlantique, you’ll have access to numerous towns to visit. Whether on the coast or inland, there’s a whole range of things to discover, from nature to heritage. Whatever your tastes, here are a few ideas of towns to explore!

The most beautiful seaside towns
Some of the most beautiful towns in the Loire-Atlantique region are located on the coast, very close to our Camping Paradis. Within a radius of just a few kilometers, you can visit many of these charming seaside towns.
For example, we recommend Piriac-sur-Mer (14 min from the campsite), a picturesque, flower-filled, lively village with architecture straight out of Brittany. Guérande, a city of Art and History, is another highly recommended stopover.
As the salt capital of France, you can visit the Maison des Paludiers and shop for iodized souvenirs. But it’s also a medieval town that has preserved a valuable architectural heritage, making for an enriching stroll.
Right next door, La Baule (14 km from the campsite) is one of the most famous seaside resorts, and with good reason! The bay is superb, and the old buildings add a touch of elegance. Head south to Pornic, with its old port and château overlooking the entrance to the ria.
A visit to the Loire-Atlantique region is also an opportunity to discover Saint-Nazaire and its shipyards. The Escal’Atlantique liner museum is a must-see, and don’t forget that Saint-Nazaire is also a seaside town, with pleasant beaches less than 30 minutes from the campsite. All good reasons to take the longest bridge in France!

Inland towns
It’s also possible to take advantage of your vacation on the coast to discover some wonderful tourist sites inland. The hamlets of Kerbourg and Kerhinet in the commune of Saint-Lyphard (12 km away), for example, are a must-see and boast a remarkable collection of traditional thatched cottages.
The city of Nantes, 1h15 drive from our Camping Paradis, is a must for inland visits: it’s home to a large number of cultural and historical sites. After a stroll through the monuments of the city center, we bet you that young and old will fall under the spell of the Machines de l’île, a visit that’s both fun and scientific.
Don’t forget to stop off at Trentemoult, located in the commune of Rezé and accessible by boat from Nantes (approx. 1 hour’s drive from our Camping Paradis in Loire-Atlantique). This old fishing village with its incomparable atmosphere is an enchanted interlude for walkers, who are invited to lose themselves in a maze of colorful alleyways.
Clisson is one of our favorite towns, nestled in the heart of the Nantes vineyards. The town’s charm is unparalleled, with its castle overlooking the Sèvre nantaise and its Italianate-style houses. You’ll feel like you’re in a Renaissance painting as you stroll through the town or take a canoe trip.
