Enjoy the seaside
At the family resort of La Turballe, the call of the open sea is felt from the very first steps. The largest beach, Plage des Bretons, stretches for over a kilometer and is supervised in summer. It’s the best option for swimming in peace, playing on the beach or taking a siesta in the sun. Its easy access and facilities make it a popular spot for families.
A little further south, Pen Bron beach borders the state-owned forest of the same name. It’s a wilder, quieter beach, not least because it’s accessed along the dunes. In fact, it’s from the coastal path that you can admire the view of the port of Le Croisic, just opposite.
Last but not least, don’t miss the La Turballe marina, where you can watch the boats come and go, enjoy an ice cream or sample seafood on the terrace. It’s also the starting point for numerous walks and bike rides along the coastline.

The famous Guérande salt marshes
It’s impossible to visit La Turballe without making a detour to the Guérande salt marshes, just a 10-minute drive from the campsite. A veritable treasure trove of the region’s heritage, this unique landscape, shaped by the hand of man, offers a striking spectacle at any time of day, with reflections that change color as the sun shines. To discover them, you have several options. The most fun? The little tourist train, which takes you through the salt flats with captivating explanations of the salt worker’s trade. If you’re more curious, you may prefer to visit on foot, following a local guide or at your own pace along the marked trails.
In summer, some salt workers open their doors for salt harvesting demonstrations. This is an opportunity to learn more about the jewel in the crown of local gastronomy: Guérande fleur de sel. Don’t forget to drop by the small artisanal stores to take home a bag of salt or some by-products: caramels, flavoured salts, cosmetics…
