There are many walking trails in the vicinity of our campsite in Loire-Atlantique. With or without children, for young and old walkers alike, on the coast or in the marshes, the region offers an embarrassment of riches.
Family outings near the campsite
Circuit de la Duchesse in Saint-Molf
The starting point is 1.5 km from our campsite for this lovely family walk. The route is 5.5 km long and takes in the village of Saint-Molf, the salt marshes and the seaside.
Guérande:
Just 8 km from our campsite, the fortified town of Guérande is one of the Loire-Atlantique region’s must-sees. After a visit to the historic center, enjoy a pleasant stroll alternating between the town’s ramparts and the small streams that surround it. In less than 5 km, the whole family can enjoy a breath of fresh air!
Intermediate hikes
Pointe de Merquel hike:
Although not particularly difficult, this Loire-Atlantique circuit is not suitable for the very young due to the walking distance, covering just over 10 km. Nevertheless, it’s one of the most beautiful itineraries near the campsite, allowing you to discover the superb natural panoramas of the Bay of Merquel, passing through the salt marshes of Le Mès, the hedged farmland and the customs path.
Circuit des moulins:
Change of scenery with this 12 km loop starting from the curious Parc des Trous in Sainte-Reine-de-Bretagne, 25 minutes from our campsite. In the middle of the countryside, you can discover a group of mills and a superb stone oven, while exploring part of the Brière marshes during the walk.

Walking tours in Loire-Atlantique
Hiking between the Mès and Brière marshes:
Saint-Lyphard, 12 km from our campsite, is a village renowned for its thatched cottages and historic character. This beautiful hiking route allows you to admire them, but also to discover the wild nature that characterizes the region. Walkers will enjoy admiring a multitude of birds and rich vegetation along a 14 km route between marshes and canals.
Randonnée du traict de Pen-Bé:
On the wild coastline between the bay of Pont-Mahé and the pointe de Pen Bé, this long-distance hiking trail runs along the coastline and inland. Departing from the Assérac salt marshes, the route passes through a series of protected natural sites to form a 22 km loop.
