Our actions for the planet at the Saint-Molf l’Île de Kernodet campsite
at camping L’Île de Kernodet
Concerned about the environment and its ecological footprint, Camping Paradis l’Ile de Kernodet has implemented a number of eco-actions. In our own small way, we are implementing ecological solutions to help preserve our planet.

Raising awareness of bio-waste sorting at the campsite
What is biowaste?
Are you completely unfamiliar with the term biowaste? We’ll explain in more detail what it is.
Biowaste is defined in several ways. It can be biodegradable, non-hazardous waste, generally found in gardens or parks. This is more commonly known as “green waste” (dead leaves, grass clippings, shrub trimmings, etc.). It can also be food waste, known as “kitchen and table waste” (food scraps and fruit and vegetable peelings).
How does the Saint-Molf l’Île de Kernodet campsite sort bio-waste?
Waste is generally landfilled or incinerated.
When landfilled, waste piles up, polluting the soil and releasing a gas known as methane. This gas is partly responsible for global warming, since its warming power is twenty-five times greater than that of CO2. Incineration also produces greenhouse gases.
That’s why our Saint-Molf campsite has set up a biowaste sorting system. Thanks to our local partner, we can provide you with watertight containers to collect your biowaste. When the containers are full, our partner recovers them and recycles them as organic waste. In addition to the ecological aspect, this action also helps to support local life, since the organic contributions are destined for users. To enable you to take part in this initiative, Camping Paradis l’Ile de Kernodet provides buckets for sorting your own biowaste on arrival.

Ecological best practices at Camping Paradis l’Île de Kernodet
Committed to this approach
Our campsite in Saint-Molf has invested in specific lighting for its exteriors and mobile homes. The latter are all fitted withLED bulbs, which are renowned for their lower electricity consumption, without any loss in lighting quality. Another major energy-consuming element is the heated swimming pool. To keep the pool at the right temperature, the campsite has invested in a heat pump. Like the LED bulbs, the aim is to make substantial energy savings.
Eco-actions you can take in your mobile home
Just like the campsite, do you want to play an active part in protecting our planet? In each of your mobile homes, you’ll find small “eco-gestures” leaflets. These leaflets give you a few tips and actions you can easily carry out on a daily basis. If you have any questions about them, or would like to do more, don’t hesitate to contact the team at Camping Paradis l’Ile de Kernodet.
