Our campsite near La Turballe is located 10 minutes from the seaside resort and its beaches.

The beaches of La Turballe

The 9 kilometers of coast of La Turballe are occupied both by salt marshes, with an area of 150 hectares, and by many beaches: the Plage de Belmont, Plage de Ker Élisabeth, Plage des Bretons, Plage de Pen-Bron… which are preserved and environmentally friendly beaches, certified by the international label Blue Flag of Europe for more than 15 years. You can swim, walk or fish for mussels, whelks, crabs and even fish like mackerel or sole!

The port of La Turballe

The port of La Turballe was once the leading port on the Atlantic coast for anchovy fishing, and is still the leading port in terms of the number of boats adapted for deep-sea fishing. It is the fishing activity which made the fame of La Turballe, with today 300 professionals in activity, of the fishmonger to the employee of the auction… The port of La Turballe, it is also a marina which accomodates more than 300 yachtmen.

Becoming a sailor

Activities have been set up to offer you the opportunity to discover the world of fishing. There is a fun trail for the whole family at the museum “La Maison de la Pêche” where you can learn more about the history of the port, the canneries … You can even embark with a fisherman for a fishing trip at sea. And if you are early, it is possible to attend the fish auction.

A preserved heritage

As far as heritage is concerned, you can observe in La Turballe the sardinier “Au Gré des Vents”, a fishing boat certified “Bateau d’Intérêt Patrimonial”, built more than 50 years ago and saved from destruction by passionate people.

You can also visit the Mill of Kerbroué, dating from the 18th century or the Belvedere of Trescalan, dating from the 17th century and allowing you to admire the landscape at 360 °.

If you are more of a nature lover, we invite you to go to the Pen Bron point where you will discover a large area of white and grey dune, as well as a pine forest. Be careful though, as the dunes are protected as they are a refuge for the local fauna and flora.

En route to the islands

From La Turballe, you can go to the islands of Houat, Hoëdic and Belle-Île-en-Mer.

Theisland of Houat is a Natura 2000 site, i.e. a site aiming to protect biodiversity. You can discover sandy beaches, turquoise waters and coves, as well as a small flowery village and 16 kilometers of coastal paths.

Theisland of Hoëdic is also classified as a Natura 2000 site. It also boasts fine sandy beaches, as well as a Vauban fort that has been partially transformed into a gîte. If you want to know more about the fauna and flora, you can learn about it thanks to exhibitions organized by the association of Management of the Fort of Hoëdic and its Environment.

As for Belle-Île-en-Mer, you can walk around thanks to its mild climate, in order to be in perfect harmony with nature.

The markets of La Turballe

You can also buy local products (fruits, vegetables, meats…) and meet our merchants and producers at the weekly market (Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm) or at the night market, in July and August (Wednesdays from 6pm).
